How do I translate the bundle widget into other languages?
Updated · SMART Bundles App & Upsells (E-TRADE PARTNER)
Publish the languages in Shopify first. Then open the bundle, use the language button at the top of the editor to switch to a language, and type the texts in it. Shoppers see the widget in their store language, and checkout shows the translated offer names.
SMART Bundles App & Upsells is a free Shopify app for bundles, quantity breaks, free gifts and upsells.

Before you start
The language button appears only when your store has two or more published languages. To add one, go to Settings > Languages in your Shopify admin, click Add language, then publish it from the menu next to the language (Shopify Help Center).
Translate a bundle
- In the app, open the bundle from Home.
- At the top of the editor, click the language button. It shows the language you're editing, for example English (default).
- Pick a language. Each one shows how many of the bundle's texts are already translated.
- A banner says Editing [language] texts. Other settings apply to every language. Every text field now shows that language, with your primary text as the placeholder.
- Translate the offer texts on Offers, the texts of any extras on Extras, and on the Settings tab the low stock message and the storefront labels in Widget text.
- Check the preview on the right. It shows the language you're editing.
- Click Save. Use Back to [your primary language] in the banner to return.
What you can translate
- Offers: title, subtitle, badge, Checkout name and benefit lines. In a product bundle, each product's name and tag. Gift and upsell titles.
- Extras (while they're on): countdown timer, subscriptions, sticky add to cart, savings summary and progressive gifts. Also the low stock message on the Settings tab.
- Widget text: every storefront label, such as the title above the offers (default "Bundle & save"), the gift title (default "+ FREE GIFT 🎁"), "Sold out" and "Not enough stock".
What shoppers see
- The widget shows the language the shopper is browsing your store in.
- A text you haven't translated shows your primary-language text instead.
- At checkout, each offer's discount line shows its Checkout name in the shopper's language (or its title, when the checkout name is empty), as long as you translated it.
- In a Mix and match product picker, product names come from Shopify in the shopper's language, so your Shopify product translations apply there.
Limits and edge cases
- Per bundle. Translations are saved with each bundle. A new bundle starts with only your primary language.
- No machine translation. You type or paste each translation yourself.
- Default texts are English. If your primary language isn't English, change the defaults in Settings > Widget text first.
- Free gift and the other discount types (Volume discount, Order goal, Buy X get Y, Shipping discount, Advanced discount) have a single checkout label and no language menu.
- The app's own screens follow the language of your Shopify admin. Besides English they come in Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Hindi, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Lithuanian, Norwegian Bokmål, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil and Portugal), Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai and Turkish. Right-to-left languages aren't available.
- Checking a language. Switch your storefront to that language, then open a product the bundle targets.
Prices in other currencies are a separate setting: see Markets and currencies. To change the look of the widget rather than its words, see Widget design and custom CSS.
