# Why isn't the bundle widget showing on my product page?

Most often the app embed is off in the published theme, or the bundle isn't active or doesn't target that product. Work through the checks below in order; each one is a reason the app deliberately hides the widget.

## 1. The app embed is on and saved

On the app's **Home**, the **App embed** card must say **Active**. If it says **Inactive**, click **Turn on app embed**, then **Save** in the theme editor. In the theme editor the embed is called **Deal widget**, listed under SMART Discounts in **App embeds**. It must be on in the published theme; after a theme change, turn it on again. Details: [Turn on the app embed](https://smart-bundles.io/help/getting-started/turn-on-the-app-embed).

## 2. The bundle is live

- The bundle's status is **Active**. **Scheduled** shows nothing until its start date, **Expired** has passed its end date, and **Inactive** is paused. Check **Settings** tab > **Active dates**.
- Deactivating or deleting a bundle in Shopify admin > **Discounts** also hides its widget.
- If activation failed with "Only 25 automatic discounts can be active at once.", the bundle isn't active. Shopify allows 25 active automatic discounts per store ([Shopify Help Center](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/discounts/discount-combinations)).

## 3. The bundle targets this product

- **Offers** tab > **Show this bundle on** includes the product: directly, through a collection, or with **All products**.
- The product isn't excluded by **Exclude products** (by product, collection or product tag).
- With **Collections**, the collection must be available on the Online Store sales channel. Shopify leaves other collections out of a product page's collection list ([Shopify developer docs](https://shopify.dev/docs/api/liquid/objects/product)), so the widget can't match them.

## 4. This shopper is eligible

- **Settings** tab > **Eligibility** > **Markets**: with **Only these markets** or **All except these markets**, shoppers outside the covered markets see no widget. Test from a covered market. See [Markets and currencies](https://smart-bundles.io/help/getting-started/markets-and-currencies).
- **Exclude B2B**: customers buying for a B2B company see no widget.

## 5. The product page itself

- **One bundle per product page.** If two bundles target the product, only one shows. The **Show this bundle on** card warns you when another bundle targets the same products.
- **More than 250 variants.** The widget doesn't mount on a product with more than 250 variants. Shopify's product data on the page stops at 250 variants ([Shopify developer docs](https://shopify.dev/docs/api/liquid/objects/product)).
- **Complete the bundle** offers are hidden on the pages of the other products inside the bundle, and while one of the bundle's fixed products is sold out or unavailable. A bundle whose only offers are hidden this way shows nothing.
- **Product pages only.** On the homepage or a landing page, the widget needs the **Bundle widget for a chosen product** block. See [Place the bundle widget](https://smart-bundles.io/help/getting-started/place-the-bundle-widget).

## 6. Placement on your theme

The widget mounts in the **Bundle widget** app block, then the HTML snippet, then automatic insertion above Add to cart. It shows nothing when:

- **Insert automatically when no block or placeholder is present** is off in **Settings** > **Placement** and the page has neither the block nor the snippet.
- Automatic insertion can't find your theme's Add to cart button, which can happen on heavily customized themes and page builders. Add the **Bundle widget** block, paste the HTML snippet, set a **Custom position**, or set **Settings** > **Theme selectors** > **Add to cart button**.

## Not a bug: types without a widget

Only bundles have a product page widget. Volume discount, Order goal, Buy X get Y, Shipping discount and Advanced discount show nothing on the product page; they apply in the cart and at checkout. Free gift adds its gift to the cart and has no widget either. If your widget shows but the price at checkout is wrong, see [Discount not applying](https://smart-bundles.io/help/troubleshooting/discount-not-applying).

## Still missing?

Open the product page with **?smart_debug=1** added to the end of its address (**&smart_debug=1** if the address already has a **?**), then open your browser's console. When a live bundle exists, the widget logs one report: which bundles matched, whether it found your theme's product form, and which placement it used. Send that report, the product link and the bundle name to us by chat or email (support@etradepartner.io). See [Get support](https://smart-bundles.io/help/getting-started/get-support).

**Bundle offers that fit your theme** SMART Bundles App & Upsells is free on the Shopify App Store. The widget uses your theme's own Add to cart button and inserts itself, with no theme code to edit. ## Frequently asked questions

### The widget shows in the theme editor preview but not in my live store.

Check that you saved the theme with **Deal widget** on, and that the theme you edited is the published one.

### The widget shows on some products but not others in the same collection.

Look for an exclusion (**Exclude products**), another bundle that targets those products (one bundle per page), or products with more than 250 variants.
