It depends on the type. New bundles skip POS sales until you untick **Exclude POS**, Free gift never applies in POS, and Volume discount, Order goal, Buy X get Y, Shipping discount and Advanced discount apply in POS like any app discount. In POS, Shopify applies automatic discounts only at POS Pro locations. ## By discount type | Type | In Shopify POS | | --- | --- | | Bundle | Off for new bundles: **Settings** tab > **Eligibility** > **Exclude POS** is ticked. Untick it to apply the bundle to POS sales. Bundles are always automatic, so they need a POS Pro location. | | Free gift | Never. Free gift always skips POS sales, and its gift is added by your online store only. | | Volume discount, Order goal, Buy X get Y, Shipping discount, Advanced discount | No POS setting: they apply to POS sales too. Automatic ones need a POS Pro location; code ones are entered at the POS checkout. | ## Turn a bundle on for POS 1. Open the bundle and go to the **Settings** tab > **Eligibility**. 2. Untick **Exclude POS** ("No discount on sales in your retail store (Shopify POS)"). 3. Click **Save**. A bundle saved before this setting existed shows it unticked, so it already applies in POS. Tick it if you want online only. ## How a bundle behaves in POS - **The cart decides.** Quantities in the POS cart qualify offers the same way they do online: quantity breaks, Buy X, get Y, Mix and match and Complete the bundle. - **No product page widget.** Gifts, progressive gifts and upsell add-ons aren't added to the POS cart for you. - **Widget-only discounts.** Upsell add-on and Alternative product discounts apply only to items added through the widget, so the same products rung up on their own pay full price. - **Apply the discount only to items added through the widget**, when on, keeps items rung up in POS from qualifying. ## Shopify's POS rules - Automatic discounts apply to POS orders only at locations with a POS Pro subscription ([Shopify Help Center](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/sell-in-person/shopify-pos/discount-management)). - Discounts from third-party apps apply to both your online store and POS, and you can't choose which sales channels they show in ([Shopify Help Center](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/sell-in-person/shopify-pos/discount-management/overview)). In SMART Bundles, only bundles have a POS setting (**Exclude POS**), and Free gift is always off in POS. - Discount codes can't be applied to exchanges in Shopify POS ([Shopify Help Center](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/sell-in-person/shopify-pos/discount-management/overview)). - Automatic discounts and codes combine in POS only as their combination settings allow. Custom discounts staff add by hand in POS always apply ([Shopify Help Center](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/sell-in-person/shopify-pos/discount-management/combining-discounts)). With no customer added, a rule that requires a tag doesn't match. - **POS Lite or no POS Pro:** automatic bundles and discounts don't apply there. For in-store savings, create a code version of a cart discount type; bundles have no codes. The cart discount types have no POS-only or online-only switch. Check one sale at a location before you rely on it in store. No. The cart discount types apply to both online and POS sales, and Shopify doesn't let you limit third-party app discounts by sales channel. Bundles can only be excluded from POS. ### Why isn't my Free gift added in POS? Free gift never applies to POS sales. The gift is added to the cart by your online store, and the discount skips POS sales on purpose.
